Dear Tango,
I started dating my boyfriend about a month ago. Last night, he asked me the dreaded "how many men have you had sex with" question. He told me he had been with about 15 women since he first began ploughing the fields. My number is almost twice as many as his. He said he didn't really care and that he was just curious. Not knowing how to respond, I managed to distract him by sitting on his face.
I will be seeing him again tonight, and I don't want to build our relationship on lies. But I also don't want him to think I am a slut by revealing the truth. What should I do?

Dear Nervous,
First, I would like to commend you on last night's silencing tactic; good job thinking on your feet (or off your feet, as the case may be). Do you think it would work again tonight? (Actually, who the hell cares? Give it a try. Every night. I would.)
If not, there is only one thing to do: lie. I admire your ethics and morals about building a truthful relationship, blah blah blah. But your new playmate lied to you - if he "didn't really care" what your number was, why did he ask in the first place?
I'll tell you why. Your man (and all men, for that matter) wants to be assured that he "takes care of you" (i.e. makes you climax) more and better than any other man ever has. Do the math: statistically, the higher your number, the less likely that is.
And lets extrapolate: think about the male ego. Your boytoy wants to feel like he is not only YOUR best lover, but the greatest lover EVER - IN THE HISTORY OF TIME.
Give him this gift…I guarantee you that this is the kind of gift that will keep on giving.
Have fun,
Tango
